Description

I am a professor at the University of Geneva and will be spending my sabbatical in New York from September 2026 to May 2027 for research and academic collaboration. For this period, I am looking for a home in New York, ideally through a reciprocal exchange with my apartment in Geneva. I am offering a bright, quiet, and elegant apartment in Geneva’s Délices neighborhood, a particularly attractive area that combines central convenience with a calm and refined residential atmosphere. Close to both the lake and the Rhône, the location is ideal for beautiful walks by the water, while remaining very well connected and within walking distance of everyday amenities. The neighborhood also has a distinctive cultural character, with Parc des Délices and Voltaire’s historic residence nearby. The apartment is located in a historic heritage building and has a great deal of character. It features beautiful parquet floors, high ceilings with original stucco, and a decorative stone fireplace. Two large balconies offer stunning views of the Alps and surrounding historic buildings. The apartment is on a quiet, tree-lined street, which makes it especially pleasant despite its central location. Everything is within walking distance, and a cellar for bicycles is also available. The apartment is furnished with high-quality pieces, including several USM Haller design elements, and combines comfort with a clean, elegant aesthetic. It is a real home rather than an impersonal rental apartment. The sofa in the living room can also accommodate guests comfortably, as it includes a proper mattress. Altogether, the apartment is especially well suited to one person or a couple seeking a beautiful, calm, and comfortable base in Geneva for an extended stay. As for myself, I am experienced with international travel and academic stays abroad, and I greatly value the trust and collegiality that make home exchange within the academic community possible. I am a non-smoker, I have no pets, and no children would be travelling with me. I am quiet, tidy, flexible, communicative, and very conscientious in caring for other people’s homes. I appreciate books, beautiful interiors, and well-kept spaces, and I would look after an apartment with great care and respect. In New York, I am looking for a furnished apartment that is attractive, comfortable, and well suited both to daily life and academic work. A calm setting, good light, and a pleasant atmosphere would be especially appreciated. My preference would be for an independent apartment, but I would also be open to a well-arranged shared living situation, provided that I have my own bathroom and sufficient private space. A direct reciprocal exchange for the academic year would be ideal, although there may be some flexibility on exact dates depending on the arrangement. I would be delighted to find an exchange partner who is similarly respectful, reliable, and looking for a beautiful and comfortable home in Geneva during this period.
