I'm a University professor (in the USA), currently living in Granada much of the year. I love sharing our beautiful city with others, especially our unique neighborhood, the Albaicin. This is a beautiful, sunny townhouse in a renovated Moorish "carmen" with views of the surrounding mountains and the Generalife from its private rooftop terrace. It is one of only 9 total homes in this community with a shared garden and courtyard. This is a lovely, gated community hidden from the narrow streets of the Albaicín. You will have all the privacy and tranquility you need, just steps away from the heart of this old neighborhood. I love how this home is close to everything in the neighborhood, yet tucked away from road traffic. Within a short walking distance, you will find the main attractions of what this extraordinary place has to offer: Mirador San Nicolas, Mirador San Cristobal, San Miguel Alto, Plaza Larga, the flamenco caves of Sacromonte, and charming cafés, bars, and restaurants. The townhouse consists of three floors: Ground floor - Cozy living room, well-equipped kitchen and furnished outdoor patio, a lovely spot for morning coffee/meals Upstairs floor - Comfortable new bedroom and bathroom Rooftop floor - Lovely terrace with magnificent views of Sacromonte, surrounding mountains, and the Generalife. Due to the stairs (and the steeper ones to the rooftop terrace), this home is not suitable for guests with mobility issues. While the carmen is on a quiet, pedestrian-only street, it is only 150 meters from buses that circulate and connect the neighborhood with Granada center and the Alhambra. Taxis can also be called to this area. It has lovely outdoor spaces, which are rare in the Albaicin. There is a patio, a cozy private rooftop terrace with views of the Generalife, mountains, and nearby church towers and village rooftops, as well as a shared courtyard and garden. The carmen is shared with 8 other townhomes, and this one is one of only 2 homes in the carmen with a rooftop terrace. It is perfect for singles or couples, and we are looking for quiet, responsible professionals who would appreciate living in a UNESCO World Heritage site. Being a traditional historical neighborhood, you'll need to be ok with cobblestone streets and walking uphill if you decide to head into downtown central Granada (or can take a bus/cab back up). There is room to store a bike on the patio, but cars will need to be parked in the outer parts of the neighborhood usually in a paid garage or with extremely limited street parking. Having a car is not advised, and there are many public transportation options as well as most things in walking distance. Granada can be hot in the summer, and we have a split AC/heater upstairs, which guests have said is great for cooling the entire space. There are also fans available to supplement that if needed. In winter, which can be cool in Granada, you can use the split AC/heater as well as radiators downstairs and upstairs.
