The house is a stone built classic 'provencal house in the centre of Aniane bnear Montpellier in the Hérault valley, not far form many other lovely places to visit such as Pezenas,St Ghuillem du Desert,Gignac,Clermont L'Herault and Montpellier is a bus ride away or 30 mins in the car.The house is light and airy and just behind the Mairie. There are local shops near by, and an excellant Fromagerie (cheese shop) right opposite. The historic centre of the village is all pedestrian so quiet all day and at night(although you can drive up to house to offload luggage and food etc. The house is comfortable, and there is a small very private terrace on the 2nd floor where you can sit quietly with your morning coffee and croissant, and very lovely in the evening with candles, and lights. If you like to cook, as I do the kitchen has a wealth of cooking equipment, and herb racks. The microwave is also a hot air oven and grill features. Good wiFi internet connection and VPN is also possible. High quality DVD and music player, with speakers for music and film lovers,and TV. Aniane has several good quality restaurants & cafés and also Montpellier is near enough for theatre,concert and cinema lovers. Walkers and climbers will love exploring the many trails and outdoor activities, and the Herault river has some great places for swimming although the sea is also less than a hour away to Sete,Agde and Montpellier for the clear blue sea and sandy beaches! For those who just like to chill,read and possibly write the house is calm, and very quiet and undisturbed by cars. It is a very happy village with some lovely walks right on your doorstep. everyone says "Bonjour" to those one passes in the street -its normal friendliness to do so.
