This comfortable home, with water views from most rooms, is perfect for a small family with plans to spend the '26-'27 academic year in Providence or Bristol, RI. Situated in Barrington, directly on Narragansett Bay, the house is about 10 miles to Providence or Bristol. Barrington has the best public schools in RI, as well as a great public library, athletic facilities, open space for walking and a public beach. There's a town center with a supermarket, drug store, restaurants, book store and other shops 2.5 miles away. The main level of the house features an open plan living area with a well-stocked cook's kitchen, dining area and living room with fireplace. Sliding doors open to a large deck overlooking the Bay and furnished with a table, chairs and sun lounger. Other rooms on this level include two bedrooms (with a queen or full bed), a bathroom with tub/shower, an office with 2 desks, a mudroom room with storage and laundry machines, and a powder room. The primary suite is two steps down from the main level. A cozy library overlooks the Bay and affords extra privacy to the bedroom. The large bedroom has a queen bed, seating area and a walk-in closet. The primary bath has a walk-in shower, a large vanity with dual sinks, and lots of storage. A sliding door from the bedroom leads to a stone patio bordered by a perennial garden and overlooking the water -- lovely for morning coffee. The large, private yard has gas and charcoal grills, several perennial gardens and a firepit setup that's a great place to watch the sunset. The neighborhood is a nice place to walk, with friendly neighbors and beaches at either end of the street. Because this is an academic year rental, start and end dates can be adjusted to accommodate university and/or public school start dates. We can recommend a cleaning person and other service providers or we can negotiate including such services in the rent. This is a great house and yard to hang out in, but we'll also provide information about tourist activities in the surrounding area (Newport is a 40 minute drive, Boston and Cape Cod are each about an hour away and New York is three hours).
