Description

I am a UC Berkeley Professor and I have lived in this house for over 10 years. I'm on sabbatical in Spring 2026 and will be traveling to Europe and Brazil for most of March-July. Looking to rent my home for a week or more at a time to folks who want to spend time in Berkeley during these months. The house is warm and cozy, light-filled, and quiet. The house has 4 bedrooms, one of which is currently also used as a home office. There are several nice spots in the house to read or work from home. Downstairs has two bedrooms and a full bathroom and a living space, and it is semi-private from the main floor of the house (including a separate entrance), so it works great for those who want separate spaces while still being connected. The garden surrounds the house and the backyard is planted with flowers, berries, and fruit trees. Kitchen has everything you need. For music lovers, there is a Sonos sound system, piano, guitars, and various other instruments. Very high speed internet connection.

Comments: Lovely renovated Craftsman home in the North Berkeley flats (Northbrae neighborhood). The house is spacious yet cozy and warm. Very family friendly space. The house is in a great neighborhood - very quiet and walkable. The house is two blocks from the N.Berkeley library and four blocks from the fantastic Monterey Market and other wonderful shops on Hopkins Street. It's 1.5 miles from the UC Berkeley Campus - easy walk, bike, bus, or drive. It's just a few steps up to the front door from the street - the main floor of the house is on street level and includes a large open living/dining room, kitchen, master bedroom w/priv bathroom, another bedroom that doubles as an office, and another bathroom. The kitchen is great - lots of natural light and everything you need for cooking and entertaining. A deck off of the kitchen is my favorite place to read in the warm sunshine and to enjoy tea or a drink with friends at sunset. There is a private backyard garden with a hot tub. The downstairs has
