This house, from the 1870s, is completely renovated. It is best for a couple or single. However, there is a day-bed in the office which has a sliding barn door for privacy should you have a child, or wish to host a guest. There is one full bathroom (on the first floor) with a claw-foot tub/shower, and a half bathroom adjacent to the upstairs bedroom. There is a large fully-fenced in yard as well, and a large newly installed deck. (Please note again, you would have to mow the lawn in the warmer months). There are a couple Muskoka chairs, a patio umbrella, and a hammock (stored in the shed during winter) for your use. There is also a baby-grand piano for your use should you play (or wish to learn). I have spent years collecting and curating furniture to make my home truly unique. Much of the furniture is mid-century modern. I love my house, and I think you will, too. From the outside it is quite deceiving as it was originally a workman's cottage, but when you step inside you will be awed by the vast cathedral ceiling and its open concept (I hope the pictures do it justice). It is a fabulous mix of modern and old. The best of both worlds. A huge park is just 1/2 a block away. This park has a baseball field (ice rink in the winter), jungle gym (if you have a child), and tennis courts. You can walk to the downtown farmers' market in 10-15 minutes. The downtown public library is right there as well. There are tons of fabulous restaurants in this same location. Locke Street is straight down the road from my house. This street has tons of restaurants, cafes, and boutique stores. People love strolling along this street. McMaster is only a 5-7 minute drive away (depending on how many red or green-lights you get :p). You can also easily bike there. There are lots of McMaster employees and grad students who live in my area, making it an ideal location to live for a professor or student. I really look forward to hearing from you and am happy to answer any questions.
