Calm, light-filled garden home in Hackney, facing park and canal walks

Greater London, England, United Kingdom
Rates from GBP £1050 | Weekly

House | Entire Home | House Sitting Requested
Available Dates:
From October 12, 2026 until August 31, 2027

Description

A quiet, light-filled 1930s 3-bed house with a private garden, set opposite a park and close to Hackney Marshes, with mature trees on both sides. Large glass doors open directly onto the garden, creating a strong connection to light, greenery, and the changing seasons. During spring, the house is available in selected two-week blocks. From July–August, the house is available for full-month stays. The house is well suited to longer stays and to guests seeking a calm, settled base in East London. Canal paths, green spaces, local pubs, cafés, and everyday amenities are all within walking distance, while central London and nearby universities are easily reached by public transport or bicycle. Despite its excellent connections, the home is peaceful and feels removed from the intensity of the city. This is a lived-in, characterful home rather than a serviced or short-term rental, and is best suited to guests who value quiet, care, and a sense of place. The house is generally offered as a private whole-home stay; in some cases, one bedroom may be reserved for owner storage by prior agreement. A friendly live-in cat remains in the house during stays and will require basic daily care. I am open to regular one or two-week rentals monthly by arrangement.

I am looking for help while I am away

I would like help with my pet(s)

My cat, Coco, lives at the house. She sleeps inside at night and wanders in and out during the day. I will leave food etc.

I would like help with plants or garden

I have a small number of plants in the open plan lounge/kitchen area and in the bathrooms that require watering.

Comments: My cat has one bowl of food per day, and the plants need watering twice a week, with the cactus watered once.
