My beautiful part-17th-century farmhouse in Henbury, Macclesfield isn't your typical rental—it's a lived-in, loved-in home where history breathes through original beams. Modern comfort and fast wifi (with movable pods) meet 17th century charm. There are still some secret servants quarters and a spiral staircase... and a mini-library that is yours to explore. The house has 5 beautifully appointed bedrooms, each with its own character shaped by the house's 17th-century bones - 3 doubles and 2 singles, and a sofabed for guests downstairs. There are also 3 bathrooms, 2 sitting rooms with fires, a study, a library, a dining kitchen with large table in an area of its own and a laundry/utility room. The house has been upgraded just last year with a new roof, new electrics, new plumbing, new boiler, (everyone can have a fast, hot shower AT THE SAME TIME-!) new windows, new landscaping and newly designed internal rooms. It is in a prestigious leafy neighbourhood not far from Manchester right on the Peak District for access to rambling the great British countryside. An expansive garden and sophisticated interiors offer the perfect balance of luxury and character here: both TVs have NOWTV and high speed wifi has movable pods and an app so your sites with the highest traffic get precedence. Of the smaller bedrooms (not shown here as there is a limit of 10 photos) one has a cinema projector you can cast to to watch movies on the ceiling, and has the bathroom has a portable bluetooth speaker. Enjoy quality linens, restful surrounds and tasteful decor whilst you write your next book, and have a haven to come back to after visits into Manchester (40 mins drive) or London (2 hrs by train). I've lovingly brought it up to date, all while ensuring its centuries-old character shines through. Just a friendly heads-up for my taller guests (over 5ft 8 inches!)—some of my original doorways are a charming reminder of days gone by, so remember a gentle duck will be part of the adventure!
