Quiet Lakefront Cottage with Awesome Wildlife

Quiet cottage on the waterfront of Panther Pond in the Sebago Lakes Region that provides an idyllic location for observing wildlife during spring, summer, and fall. The cottage is fully equipped with modern kitchen and small dining table; 2 bedrooms; 2 bathrooms; living room with sleeper sofa, recliner, and smart TV; office nook; deck with small dining table, grill, and Adirondack chairs; dock with kayak rack and Adirondack chairs; combo washer/dryer; and WiFi. Panther Pond is a quiet lake in the Sebago Lake region. Panther Pond Pines Road is named after its giant white pines. Bass fishing is outstanding and there is a quiet sandy beach only a few paddles away. Bald Eagles nest on Dolly Island directly across from camp. They wake up early, hunt, bring food back to their babies, feed on muscles in the cove to the right, and perch on the dead pine trees. 11 loons (2025) live on the lake, and two nest in the marshy area across left from the cottage. Every year, an important community story is whether or not the baby loons survived the spring. They are vulnerable to Eagles and Snapping Turtles. When they survive, it is incredible to watch the baby learn from Mom. Beavers roam the shallow waters looking for materials to build their den. They slap their tails on the water if fisherman are in their territory. Herons quietly meander around the dock in the early morning. They will surprise you and take flight if you are not aware. Raymond (30 km NW of Portland) is a charming New England town that offers outdoor activities (e.g., boating, fishing, and hiking) and local markets, farms, and dining.
