We are renting our classic DC rowhome on a quiet, tree-lined street, with original heart pine and oak floors, transom windows and antique molding. We updated it in 2020 with an open-plan kitchen with high-end appliances, 2 new bathrooms and a completely updated walkout basement bedroom with a private bathroom. This will be a 1-year lease with the possibility of renewal. The house has 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 2 offices, a playroom/bonus room, a covered front porch, a spacious back deck with gas grill, fenced backyard, and private parking pad. It is comfortably furnished and is ideal for an individual or family who likes the option to host guests and have dedicated offices. Dogs are welcome. No smoking of any kind. Our house is in Petworth, a family-friendly, culturally diverse, mainly residential neighborhood in DC. From our house it is an easy walk to 3 parks, Upshur Street (with Timber Pizza, Lulubelle’s ice cream, Cinder BBQ, Loyalty bookshop), a fantastic family-owned roasting company and coffee shop (La Coop), and a public playground, library, and pool. Easy access to Rock Creek Park trails, downtown, and great nearby neighborhoods like Columbia Heights, Mount Pleasant, Takoma Park, and Adams Morgan. Easy 20-minute walk to Georgia Ave/Petworth Metro (Green/Yellow Lines) or Fort Totten Metro (Green/Red Lines). Nearby bus lines take you downtown, to Silver Spring, Takoma Park, or to the metro. Easy access to all of the universities. Bike lanes and paths will also take you where you need to go. The city is pretty compact--for reference, it takes us about 20 minutes to drive across town to American University, and about 25 minutes to get downtown by either car or bike. We have a high-efficiency washer & dryer, on-demand hot water heater, solar panels, induction stove, radiator heat and central cooling on two floors with mini-splits in the bedrooms for customized comfort and affordable utilities. A screened-in under-deck area provides covered bike storage and a work/gardening bench. We would like to continue to employ our professional cleaners (cost included in the rent). Trash, recycling and compost are collected by the city. Other utilities will be covered by the renter.
