Tucked between two cul-de-sacs in a quiet canyon, my house offers the atmosphere of an artist's retreat, despite being near to downtown, shopping and dining, and beautiful walks in the canyons of Mission Hills and Hillcrest. The layout is slightly unconventional as befits a 1953 design by revered San Diego architect Lloyd Ruocco, and the indoor-outdoor layout is characteristic for Southern California modernism. Amenities include a grand piano, ping-pong table, many books, washer-dryer, proximity to buses and trolley, and ample off-street parking. The courtyard garden is a serene and inspiring oasis.
