We have lovingly built our home over nearly 30 years, and after raising our family here, we are off to some adventures. We hope to share our space with other open-minded, adventurous folks who need to be in Seattle for a few months. This is not your cookie-cutter condo. The space is comfortable, cozy and fun. It's super walkable - Trader Joe's, PCC, Safeway, Ballard Market, restaurants, and bus lines in every direction are just a few blocks away. Ride your bike to Golden Gardens beach, jump on Burke Gilman trail to Fremont or all the way to Kenmore. We have both worked at UW in various forms (as staff) for over 20+ years. Jeff works on the Capital Planning side, and Julie supports research in the College of Engineering. The home is the top floor of a unique mixed-use building in the buffer zone between Gilman park/lower Woodland and Ballards historic core. It's surrounded by great small breweries and restaurants and you'll enjoy the eclectic food truck options and many events and activities in the neighborhood. If you have kids, they can play at the Gilman playground around the corner, or stroll around to the cafes and shopping. We have a new little bodega around the corner with soft-serve ice cream, and it's an easy walk to Fremont and historic Ballard's vibrant restaurant scene. We recently remodeled the bathroom, adding a lovely walk-in shower. The 2-bedrooms are small but comfortable. Bedroom 1 includes a loft with a twin bed and queen bed below. Use the loft for storage or kiddo's. Bedroom 2 has a queen bed and two windows for lovely light. Both have new cork floors. The kitchen was remodeled 2 years ago and is well-equipped, with an induction stove and all the appliances you might need. Enjoy the private backyard for a BBQ or just a quiet afternoon with a book. Large decks on both front and back of house. The back laundry room/sun porch is full of windows and has great morning sunshine for your coffee or a great office/workspace. I'm happy to do video calls to do a quick tour if interested.
