My husband and I moved to Eastport from Washington, DC about 6 years ago to retire. He was the general counsel for C-SPAN for many years. I worked in the non-profit arena. We love this area because it's historic, beautiful, walkable, social, and very friendly. We’re quiet, organized, responsive, and respectful of privacy. We love our craftsman style home and enjoy taking care of it. The apartment is on the lower level, and we live upstairs. We enjoy hosting thoughtful, responsible guests—especially those here for academic, medical, or professional assignments. We value communication, mutual respect, and a quiet home environment. Our former tenants have included folks in transitional phases of their lives (e.g., building or renovating homes) and we understand the unique needs of people relocating temporarily. We’re looking for a tenant who appreciates a peaceful, well-kept space and treats the apartment as their own—someone independent, tidy, and considerate. If you're here to focus on research, writing, teaching, or a demanding work assignment, this is an ideal environment. We have a friendly, well-behaved dog. She will bark at the doorbell and occasionally when we're out and she is distracted by outside sounds, so if that's a problem for you, this may not be a good match.
