Our two bedroom garden flat is available between June and August 2026 (dates flexible). Priority given to longer rentals or house swaps. I am an academic and I am planning to be away over the summer, open to suggestions if you are interested in a swap. Laid out across upper ground and garden level, my home is a maisonette in a Victorian house in De Beauvoir, a lovely peaceful area with sweet cafes and restaurants and great bus access central London and the City. The two bedrooms (one single, one double) open directly to the gorgeous south-facing garden. The living room is bright and sunny, especially around noon. It has a large TV (Netflix, Prime, BBC I-Player etc), sofas, armchairs and dining table. The kitchen has all the usual equipment and cutlery and crockery and also has a small table and seats 2, ideal for a quick breakfast. There is a large bathroom with a bath plus a separate small bathroom with a toilet and a sink. The area, De Beauvoir, is on the border between Islington and Hackney. Less than 5 minutes away you'll find a Sainsbury's and Tescos (supermarkets), a green grocer, a pharmacy, a dry cleaner, an excellent quality fish and chip shop, and a cozy and beautiful cafe/lunch place. Turn in the other direction and in 6-7 minutes you'll reach the gorgeous De Beauvoir Deli, a large food shop, a hardware store, three cafes, a pizzeria, a newly and beutifully refurbished East and South East Asian Community Centre that hosts exhibitions and pop up cafes. There is a small cute square near us (De Beauvoir Square) and Shoreditch Park is also near. The area is calm and relaxing. There are 5 buses 2 minutes from the flat, that all take you to Angel, the nearest tube stop. Several of them take you directly to Bloomsbury/Kings Cross/ Euston - the university area where UCL, Birkbeck, SOAS, St Martins (UAL) and the Brithsh Library are located and there's also a direct bus to King's and LSE. The overground, in the other direction, (Dalston Kingsland) takes you to South London, a very quick and easy journey to Goldsmiths.
