Available Dates: July 1th, 2026 – August 31th, 2026 (flexible; open to shorter exchanges) The Flat Bright, central Barcelona flat in a quiet residential area in a modern building from 2000, overlooking Glòries Park and the National Theatre of Catalonia. The apartment has one double bedroom and a very large children’s room with three single beds, making it ideal for a couple, a small group of colleagues, or a family with children. There are two full bathrooms, a separate, fully equipped kitchen, and a comfortable dining/living room. Every room opens onto a balcony, so the flat is filled with natural light throughout the day and has open views instead of facing an internal courtyard. The dining table also works well as a workspace for writing, reading or online meetings. Within about 5 minutes’ walk you will find: * The Design Museum of Barcelona (Museu del Disseny) * Two major theatres, including the National Theatre of Catalonia * One concert hall / auditorium * A public library * Glòries Park just across the street, with green space and playgrounds There are also supermarkets, bakeries, cafés, local markets, pharmacies and restaurants within easy walking distance. The beach and the historic city centre are 15 minutes walking or in a short metro, tram or bike ride away. Public Transport The area is extremely well connected: * Tube: Line L1 (red line), Glòries station – fast connection to Plaça de Catalunya and main train stations * Tram: Lines T4, T5 and T6 at Glòries – direct routes to the beach, Diagonal Mar and nearby districts * Bus: Several frequent lines linking to universities, research centres, downtown and other neighborhoods You can easily reach most universities, labs, libraries and cultural institutions in the city without a car. Exchange or Rental We are an academic family and will be in New York for a research stay at Columbia University in July–August 2026. We are looking to exchange the flat for the full two months or for shorter periods, and we can also consider non-simultaneous weeks. If a home exchange is not possible, we are also open to renting the flat by the week or month during July and August 2026, but we prefer the exchange option.
