We're looking to host a visiting professional, scholar, or medical staff member who will be spending time at Duke University, Duke Medical Center, or one of the nearby academic or research institutions. The apartment is a comfortable and quiet one-bedroom, best suited for one person, as there is parking for only one car and the layout is designed for individual living. There is a futon for the occasional visitor. The apartment offers a peaceful, light-filled retreat for someone who appreciates quiet surroundings and a relaxing place to unwind at the end of a busy day. It’s ideal for those who prefer a private, well-cared-for home environment rather than a commercial or corporate rental. Many of our guests have been visiting professionals who need space to focus, rest, and feel grounded during their time away from home. Located in a wooded residential neighborhood just minutes from Duke University and Medical Center, the apartment is both convenient and serene—close to everything but tucked away from downtown’s busy pace. Guests often remark how much they value the balance of accessibility and calm. Within a short drive, you’ll find local cafés, walking trails, the beautiful Duke Gardens, and Durham’s vibrant restaurant scene. The neighborhood is ideal for walking and close to Eno River trails. The apartment has its own private entrance, is fully furnished, and includes all essentials for a comfortable stay: a full kitchen, washer and dryer, Wi-Fi, utilities, and parking for one car. It’s a space we’ve cared for with attention and warmth, and we take pride in keeping it clean, inviting, and peaceful. Because the apartment is part of our home, we value mutual respect and privacy. We’re quiet ourselves and appreciate guests who share that sensibility. Non-smoking only, please. We welcome one small, well-behaved pet with prior approval. Ideal stays are between three and six months, though we’re flexible depending on individual needs and availability. We’ve hosted both short-term and extended stays and understand the varying rhythms of academic and medical assignments.
