This wonderful, 17th century house has been so stylishly refurbished by a prominent architect in the last few years with underfloor heating in the kitchen and beyond. It lies in the midst of very quiet countryside where sightings of deer, owls, kestrels, hare and buzzards are common across remote agricultural land - and beyond is the sea that glimmers hypnotically on the horizon. The early morning vista is mesmerising, as the River Alde also snakes through the valley. But it is also only 2 miles from Orford where there are shops, pubs and restaurants and river life, with a working quay and quality fish shops. Originally a set of 17th century cottages, the house still bears the beams and brickwork of the old dwelling, but it has been completely refitted recently: it is airy, light and very comfortable. It has been set up as a place where writers and artists can get away from the throng: there is also a private library in the grounds that can be accessed - on request. It has phenomenal views but has some prize (but not valuable) antiques. It is a very inspiring, happy space to work in. But it is within easy distance of Woodbridge and Saxmundham (with train links to London, Cambridge and beyond). It has 4 bedrooms and a good study room next the sitting room.

Comments: Beautiful, quiet, old but refurbished artisan house with incredible views of the sea in the midst of wild nature. Sights of deer, owls, hare, kestrels, stoats, muncjac and many others are common - but the great vista of the sea in the distance makes this a magical setting
