This wonderful, 17th century house has been so stylishly refurbished by a prominent architect in the last few years with underfloor heating in the kitchen and beyond. It lies in the midst of very quiet countryside where sightings of deer, owls, kestrels, hare and buzzards are common across remote agricultural land - and beyond is the sea that glimmers hypnotically on the horizon. The early morning vista is mesmerising, as the River Alde also snakes through the valley. But it is also only 2 miles from Orford where there are shops, pubs and restaurants and river life, with a working quay and quality fish shops. Originally a set of 17th century cottages, the house still bears the beams and brickwork of the old dwelling, but it has been completely refitted recently: it is airy, light and very comfortable.
