Welcome! We hope you will enjoy our home as much as we do and feel right at home. Our house is a 1905 Victorian semi-detached town house. In 2016/17 we did a complete-gut renovation and replaced ... well everything except for the brick exterior and the studs between floors. We enjoy radiant floor heating, high-speed AC, large tilt-n-turn windows, exterior roller shutters, and a warm maple hardwood floor. The house is warm, welcoming, but understated. Clean lines, Maple and light colours are used throughout. We also love the location: 20 min by bike or public transportation to Sunnyside beach, UofT campus, the city core, or High Park (Toronto's Central Park). Entering the home you come into a wide hall way with lots of storage space for shoes, coats, hats, and so forth. Off the hall way is a powder room, which is convenient when kids come running in from playing in the park. On the first floor are also our office, the kitchen, dinning, and living room. On the second floor there are two kids rooms (2 beds each), the master bedroom, two bathrooms and a shared play area. The kids' rooms both have large windows facing the park, while the master bedroom enjoys a view of the Toronto skyline. The kids share a bath with shower, tub, and a double vanity. The master bedroom has an extra-wide family bed (2.80m x 1.80m), an en-suite bathroom with a single vanity and a double shower. On the third floor there is another bedroom and an office/guest bedroom, a bathroom, a lounge, and a balcony. The bedroom has a single bed in it right now, but can easily accommodate a second mattress if needed. The bathroom has a shower and a single vanity. From the balcony, you can enjoy a breath-taking view of the Toronto skyline - especially in the winter time (no leaves on trees :) ). In the basement, the kids will find another place to hang out. There's also the laundry and the maintenance room. Both in location and equipment the house is ideal for families. There is lots of room to play but also lots of smaller rooms to retreat, do arts and crafts, read in quiet. We have a park with a large playground, a basketball court, an ice rink, and a ping pong table just across our quiet street and lots of toys to share around the house. From late spring through the Fall, there is a great weekly farmer's market. The backyard has a deck that invites you to relax after a day of exploring the city and an outdoor gas fire place. Enjoy the warmth and comfort of a real fire without the hassle of cleaning a log fireplace. The kitchen is fully equipped. We love to cook and are happy to share our favourite bakery, butchery, etc. Note that as tea drinkers, we don't own a coffee machine. We do have a french press and some great coffee houses within 5 min walking distance. We don't own a TV, XBox, or similar devices. We do have a movie projector and a DVD player as well as a collection of DVDs. We have a strong and stable internet connection throughout the house. There are three adult bikes and four kids' bikes of various sizes that you are welcome to use. Due to allergies, we unfortunately cannot welcome any animals in our home. The neighborhood is bounded by two of Toronto's large through-roads. Though with this being Toronto, even those large through roads have barely more than one lane each way. On both of these roads you will find lots of little stores: produce stores, barbers, pizza shops and Thai restaurants, Yoga studios, coffee shops, and so forth. It is a great neighborhood: Friendly people, lots of kids, several schools are nearby. View of Toronto's skyline from afar, large park, neighborhood cafes and bakeries, large convenient shopping center just beyond the park. Our neighborhood consists mostly of two- and three-floor single family homes.
