My husband and I are artists attending a residency in Newfoundland for all of 2026. Our house on a hill was completely gutted when we bought it in 2018 and have put a lot of hard work, love and care into making it the warm and comfortable home that it is today. We are looking for renters who will feel at home and be happy here and who will respect the house and be good stewards in our absence. On the first floor is a a spacious, comfortable kitchen that is open to the living room with tv, couch, comfy chairs and access to back deck. The washer and dryer are in a closet off the kitchen. Also downstairs is a dining room and half bath. There were originally four bedrooms upstairs, but we took down a wall to make a big open space in addition to the other two bedrooms. We use that space as an office, yoga spot and hang out/reading area with another tv, books, and a pull-out couch for guests. If necessary, we can make that space back into two rooms. The upstairs bathroom is spacious and has a full sized tub/shower. We have little outdoor space, but the rear deck is very private and offers beautiful southern views toward Mt. Greylock. The neighborhood is quiet and is a short walk to downtown shops and restaurants, Mass MoCA and MCLA. We've got lovely neighbors. The house has lots of lovely windows and light. That said, the windows are single pane, and every winter we install plastic sheeting over the windows to keep the house warm in the colder months. It's super clear and tight so that one doesn't notice it, but it makes a big difference. We remove it in the spring and then put it back up in the fall, and would request that you carry on that routine. Of course, we would provide the materials for that. We also have an attic if you need to store some items during your stay. The dedicated parking spot in front accommodates one car. On-street parking is not allowed overnight from November to April, so if you have a second vehicle, we will work with you to try to find additional nearby parking.

Comments: We are in a quiet yet vibrant community in walking distance to MCLA, Mass MoCA, farmer's market, post office, grocery store and downtown shops and restaurants. Great hiking is nearby as is Williamstown, Williams College and the Clark Art Institute.
Comments: Heat, electric, water and wifi included. Fully furnished. On-site washer/dryer.
Comments: The house would need to be childproofed for very young children. Absolutely no smoking inside, but outside on the deck is a possibility. There is room for one car--we may be able to help find parking for another car, if needed. No cats (allergy).
We will have our mail forwarded, but may need help if important mail mistakenly gets delivered.
If you like living with plants and are willing to care for them we will leave them with you. Otherwise we will find homes for the plants.

Comments: The house was built in 1880 and retains original oak interior details and regal stature. The rear deck provides private outdoor space with mountain views. North Adams is technically a city, but is nestled among hills with nature all around.
