Family-Friendly Century Home in Kitchener-Waterloo

We are taking the trip of a lifetime with our 8 and 12 year old daughters to New Zealand and SE Asia for five months. We're looking for a great match with someone who will care for our home (and cat!) while we're away. We're motivated to find the right match - get in touch if you think it might be you! Our house is a classic century-old brick home in the East Ward in Kitchener. It's a great neighbourhood with friendly neighbours, big front porches, and tree-lined streets. We have three bedrooms on the second floor: The primary bedroom has a queen bed and an ensuite bathroom with a shower (no tub). Both other bedrooms have single beds. There is a large, shared bathroom with double sinks, a free-standing tub, and a shower. There is a fourth bedroom/office in the basement with a queen bed. We also have a gorgeous walk-up attic with skylights, a work area, and TV area. Perfect for family movie nights and/or teenage sleepovers! Out back we have a great back deck with a BBQ (natural gas from the house - no dealing with propane tanks!) and a fully fenced back yard with a firepit. We have a swing set and small climbing structure for kids, plus our veggie garden. Out front we have a covered porch that's great for dinner or a drink in the evening. We love our central location. Neighbours bike up to Laurier or UW, and we're also close to the light rail and buses. It's easy to access the highway but not so close you hear it. It's easy to get into Toronto for a night, take a day trip to Niagara Falls or the shores of Lake Huron, or, our favourite, take in some amazing theatre in Stratford (ask us for tips on how to score deals on the tickets). Or, for sticking closer to home, it's easy to walk to schools, the Farmer's Market, libraries, parks, and downtown.
