This beautiful and eclectic turn of the century home, built in 1891 is located five minutes from downtown Salt Lake City and just 40 minutes from some of Utah’s best skiing, rock climbing, hiking, and mountain biking. The Trolley Square historic shopping district and Liberty Park are just a short walk away. Also located within walking distance are several coffee shops and local restaurants, as well as grocery stores like WholeFoods, Smith’s, and Trader Joe’s. This artist's home is a great place for a traveling family, small group of friends, or a single person who needs a quiet sanctuary for reflection and rest. The landscaping is all cared for by the host next door. The front and back yards are filled with plants, herbs, and flowers, and home to a plethora of birds, bees, and butterflies. The home adjoins its back yard with two other homes (one of which is the host home), and is part of a loving community, and we often host Friday pizza nights! We have two very friendly dogs, and a toddler and sweet teenager who love to say hello, and utilize the back yard, but if you would prefer to keep to yourself and like privacy, the back yards can easily be separated by closing a gate. There is a beautiful outdoor patio and dining area, and behind a tall fence is the chicken yard where the chickens will cluck humorously and eat your table scraps! The home consists of an adorable living room with pullout couch for additional guests, and a gas-fired fireplace and TV in which you can airplay to directly; dining room, small kitchen, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a laundry room just adjacent to the kitchen. The Master Bedroom upstairs has a large walk-in closet, King Bed, and space to add a desk to work from if desired. The other two bedrooms have Queen Beds. The walls are covered in art created by the homeowners and other local artists. The kitchen is stocked with basic cooking pots, pans, and utensils you'll need to cook full meals during your stay, and there is a BBQ in the back yard. Herbal tea harvested from the garden is available upon request. The cooling system consists of a central swamp cooler, and window air conditioners can be added to the bedrooms upon request. As this is an older house, it does come with the quirks of old homes, but since we live right next door, we will work with any issues that pop up with home maintenance as quickly as possible!
