Sweet seaside retreat on Cape Cod. I am a professor of English and Comparative Literature from NYC. I live in New Orleans, Louisiana. My family owns a beach house on Cape Cod, on the Massachusetts coast. We are looking to rent to good people (always happy to welcome academics/scholars/students and their families!), especially during the off-season during the academic year (September-June), but in the future, also during the summer months. Our Cape house is a much-loved family home with happy vibes, a great place for a family, couple, or individual looking for a small beach-town retreat. My kids and their cousins grew up coming to their grandmother's house in summer, swimming, sailing, biking, etc., and we cherish the idea of others doing the same, with kids or without! The house has three bedrooms (1 main bedroom with double bed, a second bedroom with two twin beds, and a third bedroom with two trundle beds that sleep 4 children or adults). There are two more single bed-sized couches in living room and on enclosed sun porch, respectively. There is a gas fireplace in the living room for extra warmth when it's chilly; AC for when the weather heats up in summer. The house has pine floors, an enclosed sun porch (screens, glass), three bedrooms, a back deck, a large renovated bathroom, large front and back yards, an outdoor shower for after beach. Easy walk or drive to beaches, restaurants and shops. A cozy home for reading, cooking, studying, hanging out with friends and loved ones. Front and back yards with wild gardens. Pine trees in front yard, grass in back. Hammock, outside dining table with large umbrella, fire pit. TV/internet/App service, Wifi. Great place for walking beaches, sleeping and working in quiet place, biking, boating, writing. Not far from Providence, Boston, or Logan Airport (convenient bus service available), but at pleasant remove from urban life for quiet retreat for writing or enjoying the natural beauty of Cape Cod. Easy travel by car to all points on Cape, Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard Ferries.
