$1,000 per month (including utilities) private bedroom and bathroom available immediately in a three bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home (with only one other roommate, the homeowner) in Ormewood Park, SE Atlanta. About the room, bathroom, and rental details: the bedroom (approx 10x13 ft, so roughly 130 sq ft) has a built-in closet and desk, and is available furnished or unfurnished. You’ll have your own bathroom with a walk-in shower and a ton of shelving and storage space. I’m open to leases of varying durations. Dogs are negotiable, but sorry, no cats (I have allergies). About the house: 🏡 The house is very large - technically a 3 bedroom, 2 ½ bath (or at least, 2 bedrooms and bathrooms on the ground floor, plus a large, light-filled loft upstairs with a toilet and sink). At this time, I’m only looking to fill one of the rooms, so that I might keep the second one as a guest room for out-of-town friends. 🔌 The kitchen has the usual in terms of gas range, microwave, dishwasher etc, and I also have a toaster oven/airfryer, vitamix, kitchen aid etc. Other amenities include central air and heat, hardwood floors, and a brand new washer and dryer in-house. ♻️ I try to be fairly energy conscious, which means the house is somewhat warm in the summer, cool in the winter, and I have a trash, recycling, and compost system that’s a little involved. 🌷 There’s a front porch, back deck, and huge (non-fenced-in) back yard with a firepit and a raised garden bed for produce and flowers. 🚙 There’s off street parking in the driveway and plenty of street parking out front. 📦 Tons of storage space in the loft area upstairs, or in the two (yes, two) backyard sheds. About the neighborhood: I live on a lovely, quiet street that nobody typically walks or drives on unless they live on the street - we have a group chat for all the neighbors! It’s an 8 min walk or 2 min bike ride to the Beltline and to all the businesses on Bill Kennedy; 12 min walk or 3 min bike ride to the Glenwood Kroger; 17-21 min walk or 5-6 min bike ride to Muchacho, The Eastern, AMC Madison Yards, and Reynoldstown; in the other direction, it’s a 10-15 min walk or 3-5 min walk to the businesses in East Atlanta Village. About me, and what type of roommate would be a good fit: I’m a 42 year old white, cis, immigrant queer woman who grew up in France (my whole family still lives there). I like to ride my bike to friend gatherings and enjoy a few camping trips times a year. I work a 9-5, Mon-Fri mission-driven job, remotely and usually from home (as opposed to coworking spaces). I go to the gym several times per week around 7am ish, and try to garden a little (you’re welcome to take over parts of the raised beds with me, and/or delight in the cherry tomato produce). I aspire to communicate directly while striving to still be kind, and would prefer a roommate who does the same too, so that we might resolve any potential conflict that could arise with empathy and compassion. I generally try to be on the tidier and cleaner side, especially in all the common areas, but won’t throw the first stone if say a dirty pan stays in the sink overnight, for example. I tend to like things done a particular way, but I love ideas on how to improve systems at home. I’m more of an order muppet - if you are more of a chaos muppet yourself, I’m sure we could be great friends but probably not-so-great roommates.
