Ours is a recently renovated apartment in the Old Town of Florence, in an elegant 19th century old building. We love the idea our home can be lived by people who really need temporary housing while on a sabbatical abroad, for academic research, fellowship, medium long relocation or just an actual vacation. It is located in a quiet and secluded residential area, close to the University District and the famous Botanic Garden “ Giardino dei Semplici”. From the apartment you can easily reach on foot all the main central areas of the City. It is suitable for a comfortable stay, in an elegant atmosphere. The interiors retain the typical characteristics of the Palace's architecture from the late 19th century with high ceilings and large windows which guarantee considerable internal brightness. The apartment has been totally renovated and it is located on the first floor. It features a fully equipped kitchen, large living room with fireplace, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths. Air conditioning in every room, efficient wifi provided with a booster for who needs to work. The elegance of the late 19th century style is combined with carefully selected furnishings from famous contemporary Italian Design Brands and precious Persian carpets. Also avaialble, a useful storage room with laundry machine. The sleeping area consists of 2 distinct areas: - a large independent suite with a matrimonial bed (160x200 cm), wardrobe, a dedicated workspace and a sumptuous bathroom; - a second bedroom with a double bed (160x190 cm), large built-in wardrobe, desk/workspace and a lovely and original adjacent bathroom. From the large windows you can enjoy some suggestive views of some famous monuments of Florence (the Dome of Santa Maria Belfiore and the Basilica of San Marco. Our apartment enjoys a relaxing atmosphere and quietness. It's indeed pleasant to live in this area. The glorious history of Florence is all around you and all is within walking distance: University sites are around the corner, several libraries in the surroundings, the magnificent San Marco Cathedral and its convent , the Museo dell'Accademia where the original David of Michelangelo is, the outstanding Piazza Santissima Annunziata and the Duomo Santa Maria Belfiore a bit ahead. Easy to reach on foot, there is the San Lorenzo Market for your daily shopping and fresh food (fruit and vegetables, cheese, meat, fish, etc.) . Logistic is excellent: the new Tramline stop is right in Piazza San Marco, 200 Mts far from the apartment. With it you can reach easily the Santa Maria Novella Railway station in 10 minutes and the Amerigo Vespucci Airport in just 25 minutes.
