THE HOUSE: Dating back to the late 1600s, this beautifully restored home in Tourrettes-sur-Loup seamlessly blends old-world charm with contemporary comfort. Nestled in one of the most picturesque medieval villages in Provence, it offers a perfect base to explore nearby gems such as St. Paul de Vence, Grasse, Antibes, and Nice. In 2024, the entire Maison underwent a meticulous renovation, ensuring that while you soak in its historic ambiance, you’ll also enjoy brand-new appliances, elegant flooring, modernized plumbing and electrics, and thoughtfully chosen furnishings—all designed to maximize comfort and relaxation. Whether you’re wandering through cobbled streets, indulging in local gastronomy, or simply unwinding in your private retreat, this home promises an unforgettable escape in one of France’s most enchanting corners. The house has 2 proper bedrooms (one with a US queen size bed, the other with two singles that can also be made into a queen size bed), plus a large sofa bed and a bunk room with 2 bunk beds on the ground floor (making it perfect for accommodating up to 2 families of 4). There is a bathroom on the ground floor (shower/WC) and a master bathroom on the 2nd floor (shower/bath/WC). ABOUT US: We are an academic couple with two young kids based in Switzerland, but have family who lives in this charming village, where we have been coming for over a decade on holidays. When the opportunity arose to purchase and restore this beautiful home, we pounced on it - and now we spend all school holidays and the summers here. We will be visiting New Zealand on sabbatical in late 2026-2027, and rather than keeping this home on the market as a holiday home during this time, we want to fine a single academic, a couple, or a family to also on sabbatical to take up residence in this beautiful little bolt hole! While it is in commuting distance to Nice, Antibes, and Cannes (and possible Aix en Provence, if you don't mind a bit more of a scenic drive), it's also a wonderful place to sit and write/create/paint/reflect. THE VILLAGE: Tourrettes-sur-Loup is, simply put, a magnificent gem. An impossibly beautiful medieval village with cobblestone alleyways, an absolute glut of outstanding restaurants given the size of the village (we recommend Spelt, the Cave and L'Ami Paul, just to get started!), multiple wine bars, and two village bakeries mean you will eat VERY well while enjoying that Provençal joie de vivre!
