This 18th century house is a registered landmark and one of the oldest buildings in Loschwitz. It was originally built by Christian Gottfried Körner, a patron of artists and musicians of the German Romantic Movement. My wife and I completed the renovation in 2007. We are a recently retired combo of architect-professor-librarian-gardener. We live next door and are happy to answer any questions you might have about living in Dresden. The house can accommodate families to couples and solo travelers seeking peace and quiet. The floor heating, wood burning oven and comfortable furnishings create a cozy home that is flooded with light. The garden has apple, quince and cherry trees and there is a lovely view overlooking an orchard. We have two cats, so please understand that we cannot accommodate any additional pets. One of the many advantages of living here is the peace and quiet, yet it is just a short walk away from necessary services and urban amenities. Just down the road is a kindergarten, elementary & middle school. The International School on Postplatz is 20 minutes away by tram. Dresden is also an easy city for commuting by bike and we are directly on the Elbe bike trail. On the weekends there will be time for hiking, biking, Dresden’s world class museums, preparing and sharing meals or spending lazy days in a lawn chair.

Comments: This carefully renovated 18th century vineyard house and garden overlooks an orchard where horses graze along the Elbe river with the Blue Wonder bridge in the background. The house is a five minute walk from shops, cafes and public transportation.
