Light-filled, quaint, colorful, quiet apartment in Park Slope, Brooklyn

Kings County, New York, United States
Rates from USD $800 | Weekly

Apartment or Condo | Entire Home | House Sitting Requested
Available Dates:
From May 24, 2026 until August 31, 2026

Description

Looking for a kind, mindful person to sublease my apartment and watch my cat while I travel abroad for a month or so. The dates of my trip are currently flexible, as finding a good fit for this exchange is important to me. About the place: I love this spot - quiet building with only 1 other upstairs neighbor. The street is mostly residential with lots of shops and nightlife nearby, so you get the quiet mixed with convenience and interest. Also within 10-15 minute walk, there is Prospect Park, and an easy trip into Manhattan with subway accessibility (G, F, R nearby). I'm looking for a mindful and conscious, caring person whose lifestyle is mostly low-key. My ideal is that the apartment is a sanctuary you can return to after fun days out in the city. I also am looking for ideally a single individual who is good with animals, to mirror the experience my cat, Mary, has typically with me. I'd love to hear about your journey and what brings you to Brooklyn, how to best support you, and see if this is a great fit!

Location

Apartment or Condo in Kings County, New York, United States

Neighborhood

Park Slope

Comments: Idyllic location in a calm Brooklyn neighborhood. Location on 6th ave gives it the benefit of a more residential street for quiet and relaxation, but just 1 ave away on either side (5th or 7th) brings you to great restaurants and nightlife. Weekend farmers markets and street markets all through the warm weather. Easy access to G, F, and R trains and pretty straight shot into Manhattan. 15 minute walk to Prospect Park. Amazing, balanced overall location especially for those sensitive to city chaos. Apartment building is quaint with a home-y feeling, only one other woman lives in the building and the landlord's wife runs the doctor's office in the ground floor. One of the best bars for nightly music 3 blocks away, along with a charming community-centered yoga & shantideva center.

House Sitting

I am looking for help while I am away

I would like help with my pet(s)

1.5 year old sweet female cat. She is low maintenance, though would be great if you could play with her a bit, feed her, and just keep her company. She is used to me being around during the work week.

I would like help with mail and deliveries

Just take in any mail once in a while if you see it and set aside for me.

I would like help with plants or garden

Some wonderful plants in the apt would just need watering once every 1-2 weeks.

Comments: In exchange for pet care, I can negotiate downward on the rent.
