I am a History Professor currently on sabbatical in Japan looking for tenants for my East London home. The apartment can sleep up to 4 people in two double rooms (or one to two people with a child) and it is set in a green leafy area surrounded by parks and canals. Close to all the trendy bars and restaurants of East London and within easy access to the Central Line, the Elizabeth Line, the Overground and main bus routes. City Airport is also close by. The apartment comprises a bright, well laid out accommodation on the 5th floor of a building designed by the famous architect Berthold Lubetkin in the 1950s commanding superb views of the surrounding area. It was originally designed as a public housing project, although now mostly in private hands, and this is reflected in the common parts and elevator which are utilitarian rather than luxurious. The architect`s vision is also reflected in the large dine-in kitchen and the overall layout of the apartment which offers uninterrupted views of Victoria Park and the canal with its river boat, and in the distance can be seen the 2012 Olympic Stadium and the skyscape of the City of London.
