The neighborhood is friendly, safe, and walkable to a variety of destinations: Solano Avenue, which features grocery stores, restaurants, shops, cafes, and a bookstore and post office, is a 10 minute walk away. Hopkins Street, known for its famous produce market, bakery, fish market, and cheese shop, is also only a 10 minute walk away. The North Berkeley BART station is a 1 mile walk from the cottage, which can take you to UC Berkeley, downtown Berkeley, and beyond to the wider San Francisco Bay Area. Bus transportation is also available within walking distance in all directions. From the cottage, you can walk or bike down to the Albany beach and waterfront (2 miles away) or up to the Berkeley Hills (1 mile away), where you will be treated with stunning views of the San Francisco Bay.
