Description

I'm an independent researcher in medical and linguistic anthropology, originally from South America. I value immigrants and people from outside the country. I worked for most of my life with indigenous peoples in the Amazon and learned from them simplicity, introspection, but also how to be direct and have a good time. I know what it is like to be silenced, a subject I work on (but hope to not impose). I tend to stay by my desk and bedroom - but usually go out to the living room or balcony to read. I do little cooking and I work a few hours a week outside my home at a nearby hospital. I love walking, swimming, independent and foreign film, and going out for some coffee and good conversation. I consider myself a world citizen, having worked on human rights - one way or another - throughout my life. I have a daughter who lives between Brooklyn, NY, and the north of Italy. I am recently divorced but had been separated for years. I have good friends in the area, with whom I tend to go out for a meal, coffee, a movie, the opera, a walk, or just talk. I entertain at home very rarely. I am looking to rent my place to a person who might share some of the above, while remaining somewhat mindful of noise and clutter. I don't have an extra TV but, these days, a laptop or computer easily substitutes for that. I look forward to sharing my apartment.
