153sqm spacious, calm, breezy large Altbau in the heart of Berlin available end of July 2026 to June 2027 (somewhat flexible on both ends of that) plus possible long-term extension. Five-room flat, large modern eat-in kitchen with sofa, a large living room with dining table, two bathrooms, two bedrooms, and two other workspaces (which have been converted to bedrooms), long separate Berliner corridor, original wooden floors, 3.5 mtr cielings. Plenty of room for work and floor space for yoga or play. Summers can be bright, sunny and breezy in this third-floor apartment with a French balcony (no elevator). Located in Tiergarten/Moabit (Mitte district), 5 min walk from S-Bahn Bellevue, trams stops, and buses, but also Hansaplatz U Bahn (10 min) and Berlin Central Station. The Altbau was renovated 2017 with a raw marble kitchen top and good quality stainless steel finishings, original recovered hardwood floors, swinging doors that open the flat all onto each other, and various stucco details. We are a 3-person family away for another year, and have some flexibility with dates. We may also stay abroad past 2027, so there is room for a longer extension all depending. The combination of convenience, greenery, and calm is unique for a busy city like Berlin. The flat is close to cafes and shops, and beautiful walks to major landmarks; e.g. Bellevue Palace, Grosser Tiergarten, Siegessäule, HKW are all nearby, while Brandenburg Gate, the Natural History Museum and Bahnhof Zoo are a 20 to 30 min walk or two stops by public transport. The world famous modernism of Hansaplatz lies just to the other side of a footbridge. We are also a few stops from Museum Island and a short ride from Potsdam, Grunewald and many other lake & forest escapes. Not to mention nearby boat tours, bike rental stands, playgrounds, table tennis and basketball facilities, and a public, newly renovated swimming pool within an extensive sports complex.
