I am looking for a single person or a couple to rent out my gorgeous flat in central Camberwell. Having recently had my first child and temporarily relocated out of London, my apartment is available now. I have owned the flat for over eight years, during which time I've worked at Birkbeck, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and King's College London (St Thomas', and Denmark Hill campuses). They were all very easily commutable by bus, bike, walking (Denmark Hill campus is only a 5minute walk) or train/tube. FLAT The flat is located within Camberwell on the Green, which is a high-spec new build development. Entry is granted by an electronic key-fob, with either lift or stairs taking you up to the first floor, where the flat is situated. The flat is bright and spacious. It has a large double bedroom with in-built wardrobes and floor-to-ceiling windows/door leading to the private terrace. The main living space is dual aspect, and therefore it is very light, and with floor-to-ceiling windows on one side leading to the same private terrace as the bedroom. There is a large kitchen in one section of the room with a free-standing island, microwave, oven, induction hob, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. The remaining living space has a sofa and coffee tables, sideboard with TV, and a dining table suitable for working, eating and hosting. The bathroom includes a shower, bath, heated towel rail, and large mirror/cabinet. There is a utility cupboard with washer-dryer, iron and ironing board. There is underfloor heating throughout the flat with individual room control. The flat also has a high-spec ventilation system for filtration and purification. There is also a suntrap communal garden in addition to the private terrace. The flat comes fully furnished, and along with all essential items needed day-to-day (cooking equipment, crockery, cutlery, glassware etc). Currently the flat also contains more aesthetic and personal items making the flat homely e.g. pictures, art-work, books etc. Bills included, including high-speed wifi. AREA I LOVED living in Camberwell! It is vibrant, diverse and interesting with a strong sense of community. The restaurants are second-to-none (my favourites being Nandine, FM Mangal, Theo's and The Camberwell Arms). It also has many great pubs (e.g. Stormbird, The Bear and The Hermit's Cave), numerous wine bars (Veraison Wines, Little Cellars), coffee shops (especially Lumberjack, Love Walk Cafe) and fantastic bakeries (Grove Lane, Irene, Toad bakery). There are many grocery shop options, including independent deli's (e.g. Gladwell’s) as well as the bigger chains (Tesco, Co-op and Morrisons). There is also a small farmer’s market every Saturday, which sells fruit, veg and meat from local farms, as well as stalls selling flowers, crafts etc. Camberwell also has a few great parks within short walking distance (I particularly love Myatt Fields Park (5minute walk), Ruskin Park (10 minute walk), and Burgess Park (10minute walk)). It's also a short walk to the South London Gallery, and a quick bus ride to the larger art institutions (e.g. Tate Modern, Tate Britain, National Gallery). TRANSPORT The flat is situated within a 1-minute walk from many bus options to take you into central London (20minutes to Waterloo, London Bridge, Victoria), or the surrounding areas such as Peckham (8minutes), Brixton (15minutes), Vauxhall (10minutes) etc, each with their own vibrant centres, good food, pubs, galleries, museums etc. It is also only a 15minute walk to Oval tube station (or very short bus ride), which is in Zone 2 on the Northern Line, which takes you to all central London destinations easily and quickly (galleries, museums etc.) and a 15minutes to Denmark Hill or Loughborough Junction overground station. Any questions about the flat or location – please just ask!
