Pretty, spacious one-bedroom in St. Clair West

Welcome to your home on Highview, a newly renovated open-concept basement apartment in a family home with a private entrance on a quiet, tree-lined street. The space is a large open-concept living area (kitchen/living room/office), and a separate bedroom with one queen bed. The living room has a sectional sofa which converts into two twin beds which can be useful for occasional overnight guests. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, stove, microwave and dishwasher. The TV has a built-in Chromecast so you can stream directly from your device or watch live local channels. The wifi is free and fast. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, and a bit of added luxury with a towel warmer and your own washer and dryer. You enter the suite through the side door. There's a set of stairs down to the apartment. Both doors have numeric locks. You control the heat in the apartment. There's a thermostat and each of the radiators can be adjusted individually. In the summer, the basement stays cool as it is below ground level. We are a family of four who live in the upstairs part of the house. One daughter has graduated from university and lives with us. The other is at McGill during the school year and with us during the summer. We are new to academic hosting but have offered short-term rentals of our basement apartment for several years, so the apartment is very well-equipped. If you have particular supplies or equipment that you'd like in the apartment please let us know. We have a playpen and high chair, for example, if you are coming with a baby. I work at the CBC and Bret works at a local start-up. We both know Toronto very well, and can offer advice for navigating all aspects of the city. There's also a neighbourhood guide for getting acquainted with our local restaurants, shops, parks, etc. quickly.
