Welcome to our charming family home, lovingly renovated by an interior designer, nested in the picturesque city of Montbrison. Just 35 minutes from Saint Etienne, 1 hour and 20 minutes from Lyon, and 1 hour and 30 minutes from Clermont Ferrand (by car). Paris is easily accessible by TGV (direct) from St Etienne, (2h48). Our home is perfectly situated for your French adventure. The city was awarded the title of Best Market in France in 2019! As former expats in the US, we decided to relocate to this lovely place to raise our children (there is a very nice private school less than 6 minutes walk, 2 minutes drive, from our home). Since I’m working remotely, we would love to embark on a long-term exchange to introduce our children to the wonders of the world and truly experience living abroad, as we did previously in the US. While we are open to various destinations, we have a soft spot for English-speaking places, though it's not a strict requirement. Ideally, we are looking for a location with an international or French-speaking school for our son. Our home offers a cosy living room with a decorative fireplace, wooden floors, a comfy convertible sofa by Poltron & Sofa. The fully equipped kitchen features modern appliances from 2022 and a convenient small laundry area with a dryer. There’s a toilet downstairs. Outside, you have a small terrace to enjoy a nice “Côte du Forez” and some Fourme cheese. Upstairs, you'll find stunning wooden floors, a bathroom with a bathtub, a separate toilet, and three bedrooms: one for a child, one with a king-size (US Queen) bed, and one currently used as an office (but we can easily put in a double bed or a single bed instead). Additionally, we provide a parking space for your convenience and a basement if you need to store some books, bikes, etc. Our home is ideally located with schools, doctors, a pharmacy, grocery stores, a GREAT cheese maker/cheese store and a post office all within easy reach. The train station is just a 2-minute drive away and accessible by bike, and the bus station is a mere 10 seconds from our doorstep, without any noise disturbance.
