Although this 3rd-floor apartment isn't my primary home I have lived in it for months at a time nearly every year since 2011 so I think of it as my home-from-home. It's just the right size for two people (and maybe a not-too-small child) and has everything that you could want nearby. My favourite thing to do is just walking: I've made it as far as the Thames Barrier a couple of times but local strolls are also always interesting - there is so much history in the area. There are cafes galore, restuarants, bus stops, underground and overground trains (1 minute walk), bike hire, supermarkets, parks small and large, the Tate Modern, the Old and Young Vic theatre, a garden museum and, perhaps best of all: the River Thames! The South Bank with the Festival Hall, British Film Institute and other cultural delights is a mere 10 minutes walk away. Going south, you can get to Brixton Market, the Imperial War Museum, the Horniman Museum and Crystal Palace by train or a pleasant bus ride. The flat has central heating throughout and a recently refitted bathroom (NB: no bath only walk-in shower), fully-equipped eat-in kitchen (fridge, gas stove, electric oven, microwave, kettle, cutlery, plates etc etc), plenty of storage, two good quality IKEA double beds, as well as a study with two desk-tables, office chairs, lamps and a bookshelf. The living room is comfortably furnished and well-lit. The small balcony opens off the living-room and has views over a beautiful old square with huge, mature trees, seating areas, grass and playground. I've been known to take my morning coffee down to the Square on sunny days intead of sitting on the balcony which I also love - always something to look at. If you are engaged in academic pursuits only Kings College is in walking distance and it's easy to get to SOAS, the University of London, LSE as well as the British Library (63 bus outside the door). Supermarkets are in easy reach (Sainsburys, Tesco) with others a slightly longer walk away (M&S, Waitrose and the Co-op). We love walking down The Cut and along into Lower Marsh where there's a daily, vibrant, ready-cooked food market as well as a well-regarded deli-butcher - Greensmiths - and some interesting shops. If you want to get out of London Waterloo, Blackfriars and London Bridge and nearby and the Jubilee underground line is one minute's walk from the block. It's hard to get all the information in because there are just so many great things about our pied-a-terre so feel free to email with any questions that you may have.

Comments: Whether it's arts and culture, riverine pursuits, theatre, the appetising food of many nations, historical walks, musuems, parks or just general ease of access to shops, public transport or pubs and cafes, my flat is the one for you!
Comments: An upfront returnable deposit of £1750 would be required as well as the first months' rent in advance.
Comments: As there are 2 bedrooms (two double beds with storage drawers underneath) a couple or person with an older child (over 10) could definately be accommodated!
The mail would need to be kept aside and my daughter would collect it every 2 weeks. or so.

Comments: 3rd floor apartment in a 7-storey block, situated right next to the lift (elevator) tho' you don't hear it. Three of the rooms overlook a beautiful, old garden/park in Nelson Square with huge trees. There are also big trees on the west side.
