Welcome to our lovely, sunny flat in leafy Tufnell Park, Islington (N7)! Please find more detailed information below . . . The Flat: A ground-floor 1 bedroom (technically 2, but we use the smaller as an office) + large reception (living room), full kitchen, full bath, and a shared outdoor space that no one uses but us (with patio furniture). It's mostly paved, but we have plants to make it nice. All mod cons, inc. a 4k TV. No central A/C, but you don't need it in London. Double glazed windows, carpeted, pet and smoke-free. Building is very secure, with a second, always locked entryway as well as a double-locked single front entry to the flat itself. We also have an alarm system, but this is a low-crime area, so no worries on that score. NB: we now have brand-new wood floors throughout the entire flat, except the kitchen, where we have restored the original mid-century modern tiled floor! The Building: A fully renovated, 1950s brick, 4-story standalone building with 3 units per floor. Extremely quiet (brick interior walls) and friendly neighbours, all privately owned, evenly split between owner-occupiers and long-term renters--no students, all professional adults. There would always be a friendly hand whenever it's needed. The Location: The location is Tufnell Park (N7, on the border between Camden and Islington). Very safe and almost entirely residential. It's a 10 min. bus ride to the British Library, UCL, and St. Pancrase/King's Cross. A few stops farther gets you to LSE and Kings. You could bike the former in 10 and walk it in about 30. Nearest Tube stations are Northern Line x2 (Kentish Town or Tufnell Park) or Piccadilly (Caledonian Road), all about 12 min. walk. Camden Town is about a 15 min. walk. The buses from the end of the street go towards Camden, Holloway Rd., Archway, Highbury and Islington or direct and fast to St. P/King's X or Finsbury Park. The Neighbourhood: Breaknock Rd. has lots of shops, a couple of decent restaurants, one excellent one (Half-Cut), and the best bakery and Italian deli in North London (Bread by Bike and Salvino's, respectively). Kentish Town is one of the hippest parts of the city, with all manner of shops, restaurants, and pubs (inc. The Parakeet, rated as one of the top-50 gastropubs in the UK!). Also easy access to Hampstead, Crouch End (super-hip), Highbury, and Angel all within a 20 min. direct bus ride. Easy walk to several small parks, and a short bus ride to the larger ones--Hampstead Heath,Regent's Park, or Finsbury Park all roughly equidistant.
