I'm a professor who is moving to the UK to take up a position at Oxford. I'm looking for someone to rent my furnished apartment for one year. I could potentially be open to a shorter lease -- or to a longer one! Just get in touch. Dates may be negotiable. I'm happy to answer any questions and provide more photos. The apartment is one full floor of an old brownstone, and it has beautiful huge windows, lots of light, and hardwood floors. It is a one bedroom apartment with two full bathrooms (one with tub, one with shower), and it has a small den off the living room, which has a very comfortable deep sofa (I often have guests sleep on this sofa). The den can be enclosed with pocket doors and is directly across from one of the full baths. It's a perfect set-up for guests. There is also a small office nook off the bedroom with a desk. It is a very nicely appointed apartment. Nespresso machine, large TV, wireless, bookshelf speakers, Le Creuset pots, Cuisinart food processor, etc. The apartment also has a washer, dryer, and dishwasher. There is also a 27" external monitor & a laser printer in the office if you need to get work done. There are also programmable electric blinds in the bedroom (the one by the bed is blackout, the other two are light filtering). The apartment is located on 16th and V Street NW. It has excellent transport links. It's a 10-15 minutes walk to either the Dupont Circle and the U Street metro stations. The S2 / S9 (express) to downtown and the national archives is right outside the door. It is a short walk from two Whole Foods locations, a Trader Joe's, Harris Teeter, and all the restaurants of 14th St / Logan Circle, Dupont Circle, or Adams Morgan. There is a large Vida gym across the street. It's a pretty and safe neighborhood, just half a block from the police station. You would also have a Zone 1 parking permit if you'd like to bring your car, and there is a parking space available for rental.

Comments: Beautiful and walkable neighborhood in the middle of the best eating and entertainment district in DC. Excellent transport links. Eight minute walk to 14th Street corridor (and to the U Street green line station); 15 minute walk to Dupont Circle metro station, the circle, and the farmers market. Nearby Meridian Hill park, nearby Logan and Dupont circles, and the many beautiful rowhouses make this the best part of the city for aimless strolling.
