My apartment is my sanctuary, tastefully furnished and fully equipped. The main bedroom has a queen bed with a lovely Nectar mattress and plenty of storage. I use the second bedroom as an office with a day bed that pulls out into a king. So the apartment is perfect for a couple with one person working from home. My kitchen is fully stocked with everything you'll need including a brand new burr coffee grinder and Breville espresso maker, KitchenAid mixer, air fryer and slow cooker. Mount Pleasant was voted by TimeOut as one of the 38 coolest neighborhoods in the world last year: "Mount Pleasant is hands-down one of the most beloved neighborhoods in DC. The neighborhood became a multicultural melting pot from the ’60s onward thanks to many Central American, African and Vietnamese immigrants putting down roots. Its culinary scene is anchored by Mount Pleasant Street, a foodie paradise packed with locally-owned restaurants that celebrate the neighborhood’s immigrant heritage. Residents fiercely love and protect Mount Pleasant, and community-building plays a central role in living in this part of town. Plus, it’s a beautiful place to spend your time – streets lined with colorful row homes and murals give way to Rock Creek Park, a local gem that, at nearly 1,800 acres, is twice the size of New York’s Central Park." I've been living in Mount Pleasant for the past 3 years and love it. A perfect day in the neighborhood is thus: Breakfast tacos from La Tejana followed by coffee and pastries in Ellē. If it's Saturday, go and check out the local farmers’ market. For lunch have some pupusas at Don Juan or Marx Cafe. Afterward, ride a bike or take a walk through Rock Creek Park. Then you could do some wine tasting at Nido's, check out the cook books at Bold Fork Books and sample some artisanal treats at Each Peach. Hit Bar del Monte, Martha Dear or Filipino hotspot Purple Patch for dinner, followed by ice cream at Mount Desert. Then end the day with a nightcap at speakeasy OKPB or a drink at our local dive bar The Raven followed by a movie at Suns Cinema.
