Beautiful 4 bed 3 bath home in a sweet neighborhood called Kensal Rise, London, near Queens Park, Nottinghill Gate, Maida Vale and Marylebone. I have moved back home to Iowa so am renting it out after living in London 27 years. I chose the house for its proximity to Queens Park, cute cafes and restaurants and its excellent public transport links making it super easy to get anywhere in London and to Heathrow Airport. I designed the house so that it is uniquely beautiful, comfortable and spacious. Being a big reader myself, there are multiple good spots to read a book, like in the beanbag in the back of the garden, the window bench in the kitchen, the Eames Chair in the lounge or the little single bedroom with the big window. There are 3 bedrooms with double beds and ensuite bathrooms and 3rd bedroom with a single bed and big window. The loft bedroom is very private and has its own kitchenette should you want to have your coffee up there in the morning, or work there. There's another good working spot at the Mission Oak library table on the ground floor. Each double bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and there is a powder room on the ground floor. The kitchen is gorgeous with sliding doors opening to the garden and sunlight flooded in the morning. Kensal Rise is a cute neighborhood just north of Notting Hill. The house is 4 blocks from Queens Park (with tennis courts, a 9 hole golf course, and a cafe. It's around the corner from the outstanding pubs, The Whippet Inn and the Chamberlayne. Kensal Rise is particularly proud of its independent 2-screen cinema called the Lexi, just up the road from the house. Public transport links are excellent with two different stations and lines to all directions of London. Kensal Green Station has the Bakerloo line to Piccadilly, Oxford Street, Paddington, Baker Street, etc) and a direct line to Euston/Kings Cross Station. Kensal Rise Station is literally around the corner from the House with the Clapham Junction - Stratford line to Hampstead, Kew Gardens, Wimbledon, Shoreditch, etc). Buses abound especially to Notting Hill Gate Station where you can get the Central Line, or to Oxford Street, or to Maida Vale where I play tennis. If you play tennis like me, there are lots of fantastic affordable tennis courts, indoor and out, nearby. Paddington Sports Club has 10 beautiful courts and a cute Victorian clubhouse, complete with a pub, which is where I play. It's about a mile from the house and I either ride my bike (it's completely flat) or I hop on the bus.
