We offer a beautiful, well-maintained home in a friendly and welcoming neighborhood in one of the Bay Area’s best-kept secrets. Our house is located in the Point Richmond Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Locals affectionately refer to Point Richmond as, “The Point.” This area is a quaint, village-like enclave with excellent access to San Francisco, Berkeley, Marin, Sonoma, Napa, and the greater Bay Area by car, ferry, bridge, bike, train, and bus. The house itself is a cozy 2-bedroom, 1-bath home full of early 20th-century historic charm. It features original hardwood floors, an updated kitchen and bathroom, powered skylights that bring in beautiful natural light, and an enormous window seat with lovely views of Nicholl Knob — a perfect spot to read or relax. Our home sits just above the historic downtown and below the ridgeline, providing natural protection from bay winds. The property enjoys a sunny, south-facing microclimate often referred to locally as a “banana belt.” The yard features mature fruit trees and plantings, including lemon, apple, blueberry, lime, guava, avocado, strawberry, grape, and rosemary — all available for tenants to enjoy seasonally. Point Richmond is highly walkable. Downtown is just a couple of blocks away, where you’ll find locally owned restaurants, two neighborhood grocery markets, coffee shops, a large waterfront park, a beautiful public swimming pool, a bank, churches, barber shops, nail and hair salons, art gallery, library and community center, and fitness studios. A short walk uphill offers sweeping bay views of three bridges. Nicholl Knob is visible from the living room and reachable on foot in about 10 minutes, as are Miller/Knox Regional Shoreline and access points to the San Francisco Bay Trail along the water. Like any major metropolitan region, commute times vary by time of day. The home is well positioned for regional access. Typical drive times (traffic permitting) are approximately: UC Berkeley: 20–40 minutes UCSF: 30–45 minutes Mill Valley (Marin): 26–40 minutes Sonoma/Napa: 45–75 minutes Prospective tenants are encouraged to verify travel times for their specific schedule using Google Maps. Point Richmond is widely regarded as one of the safer communities in the East Bay and is known for its strong neighborhood feel. Tenants are welcome to enjoy the home’s abundant fruit trees and garden plantings throughout the year. Well-behaved pets are welcome.
