We are renting out our beautiful apartment in a quiet residential building during September and October 2026, with some flexibility regarding exact dates. The flat is ideal for academic visitors, including their families, and has two bedrooms, one of which can be used as a home office or as a children's bedroom/guest room (it is currently used as the bedroom for our two year-old son). There is a large kitchen with all appliances and a small dining table, as well as a large and bright living room with a comfortable sofa. The bathroom has a free-standing bath tub and a separate shower cabin. A well maintained communal garden in the back of the building is also accessible. The place is located in the Newhaven area of Edinburgh, only a few hundred meters away from Newhaven Harbour, which has waterfront restaurants and a seaside promenade against the backdrop of fishing boats and a lighthouse looking out at the Firth of Forth. The Edinburgh tram stop is 200 meters away, with direct connections to the city center and airport with both tram and bus. The University of Edinburgh George Square campus is reachable with a direct bus connection, or by tram to St Andrews Square (plus a 15 min. walk), and is around 25 minutes on a bicycle, or a 45 minute walk - walking speed and fitness depending :) Surrounding areas that can be reached in less than 15 min walking time include the popular cold-swimming spot Wardie Bay, The Shore (many bars and restaurants), Victoria Park, and Leith Walk (vibrant area for eating and drinking out). We are also well connected to Edinburgh's network of walking and cycling paths. A large "Asda" supermarket is 5 min walk away and open 24 hours.
