Aloha! Our home will be available for an exchange during summer of 2026, and then again as a rental from January 2027 through July '27. We are flexible in terms of the dates for an exchange this summer (2026). Ours is a fully furnished family home in a very nice neighborhood about a 20 min. drive from UH@Manoa and about 25 mins from various downtown Honolulu locations, including hospitals (in non-rush hour traffic; during rush hour, it can get a little gnarly!). We have three bedrooms, two of which are able to be used as offices since our kids have recently moved out on their own. (But the beds are still there if needed; one is a queen sized futon, the other a full sized memory foam platform bed.) We have lots of books for all levels, board games, outdoor gear, bikes, snorkel equipment, etc. that can be used. We eat outside on the patio most days. We have a very large fully enclosed backyard, great for entertaining or just relaxing. We have a lime tree and a mango tree and some herbs growing outside. We are a 5-8-minute drive from beaches (Sandy's), snorkeling (Hanauma Bay), hiking (Makapu'u Lighthouse; Koko Head), botanical gardens (Koko Crater), and shopping / dining areas (Koko Marina; Hawaii Kai Towne Center). Renters have access to a private Homeowners Association community clubhouse and pool. (This includes a kiddie pool for toddlers.) The house has AC (although you probably won't need it between January and June) and a washer/dryer as well as a dishwasher. It's a great spot for quiet / safe / family living. Please note: we DO have a dog! (Please ALSO note, however, that we will consider finding alternative accommodations for her if you are not amenable to pet-sitting.) She is a small chihuahua terrier mix who is very well behaved and loves everyone. She has never nipped at a single person, and she is now 11 years old. She is potty-trained; she goes outside through one of two doggie doors whenever she needs to. We take her for walks, but that is not regimented because she has access to our backyard whenever she wants. She likes to sleep in our bed, but she will also quite happily sleep with anyone in any bed! So if you have kids, she'll snuggle with them! We also have a small number of indoor plants that need to be watered. We will be securing a yard service that we will pay for. To be clear, this is not a regular rental. It's a fully furnished family home with all our possessions in place. Showing up with just your suitcases is ideal. We have a fully stocked kitchen with everything you would need for cooking and entertaining. We have a TV (but no cable) attached to streaming internet services (Spotify; Amazon Prime; and Netflix), wi-fi throughout the house, plus a printer. Our master bedroom has a King-sized super-comfortable bed (with a Dreamcloud mattress); another bedroom/office has a queen-size futon with a memory foam mattress; and the other bedroom / office has a comfy full-size memory-foam bed. The house has an attached studio apartment with a separate entrance, which is rented out to a tenant who is very quiet and respectful. She lives "next door", and we share a mailbox with her. She has no access to the house's interior. The market rental rate in our area is between $4,000 and $5,000 for a home like this, but that is usually without furnishing and without utilities. (Electricity, Internet, water/sewer, etc. altogether come to about another $500/month.). But because we want to find someone who will treat our home with respect and care, and because ideally we want animal lovers who will be ok with pet-sitting our dog (who really does require very minimal care), we will make it $3500/month, all inclusive. If you think you would be a good fit or have a good exchange for us, please contact us to discuss the home and the rental conditions further and to talk about the dates that you are looking for. Thank you for considering, and we look forward to hearing from you!

Comments: This home is in a very desirable upscale suburban neighborhood, a five minute drive from the ocean, from botanical gardens, from Costco and other stores. A home association pool is included, plus bicycles, kayaks, boogie boards, etc. Nice big yard.
Comments: Market value is $4000-$5000/month, and electricity, sewage, water, internet, etc. would normally add another $500. All utilities are included with lower-than-market rate because we are integrating pet-sitting for our tiny, easy-to-care-for dog!
Comments: The house has everything needed, including bicycles (3), kayaks, toys, internet, all necessary kitchen items, a washer/dryer, etc. Please inquire about a car. About 25 mins from Univ. of Hawaii at Manoa and major hospitals in regular traffic.
We have a small trained dog named Pepper. She is a chihuahua terrier mix and loves people. She has access to our backyard 24/7 and does not need to be walked (but can be) or given medications. Very low maintenance. No health conditions at all.
We have a back yard and a front yard that can be mowed every few weeks. A few plants in the house need watering. If necessary, we can arrange for such care.
Comments: This is our family home with all our stuff and our small dog. We are looking for someone who will enjoy the space and amenities and will not mind looking after the dog and plants.

Comments: Avail for exchange 06/20 through 08/20; and open to rental from Jan 2027 - July 2027. The home comes with a small dog to care for. She is very healthy & super easy to look after. For this reason, we are setting the rate lower than market rates.
