We offer a confortable furnished and fully equipped apartment for rent on a monthly or yearly basis. We are a married couple, semi-retired academic professionals, living between Bogota and Washington, D.C. We have a long tradition of sharing our home with graduate students and academics, both in Washington DC and Bogota. We advertise only in this site, because we want to find tenants who are good stewards of the environment and the premises, which in turn have been furnished to provide a home-away-from-home that is supportive and conducive to serious study and work. Both of us have been students abroad, and perfectly understand the needs of students or professionals abroad. Recently, we renovated Judy's large parents' home, including the adjacent apartment advertised here, and made it very comfortable to share with other academic students or professionals interested in studying or working in Bogota. Invariably, the experience of sharing our homes has been of mutual cultural enrichment. The apartment has an independent entrance, but it has the option of access through the main house. It also has a patio on the second floor, with magnificent views of Bogota's mountains and Monserrate. It has a fully equipped kitchen with laundry area, and refrigerator, a spacious bathroom with stepless shower, and two sunny bedrooms, both with desks and lamps for study. We absolutely love the neighborhoods of Paulo Sexto and La Esmeralda where the house is located, with many amenities within walking distance such as Parque Simon Bolivar, the Virgilio Barco Library with its large park campus, the Botanical gardens, gyms, restaurants and shops, banks, supermarkets, fresh produce shops, and beautiful bike trails. We are near TransMilenio, which is the main mass transportation. It is accessible from all cardinal points and we never encounter the notorious traffic jams that happen in other parts of the city. It is within walking distance to National University, and near all major Universities. We are 15 minutes away from the airport. One important feature of our neighborhood is that it ranks as one of the safest neighborhoods in Bogota, with a tight network of neighbors watching over the safety of the entire neighborhood. We also pay for private security and the police local station (CAI) is one block away.
