One bedroom garden apartment in Cambridge between MIT and Harvard

We are offering a one-bedroom garden apartment in our house for the 2026-2027 school year, from June 2026 through June 2027. This is the bottom floor of our house; our family lives on the two floors above. However there is an entirely separate entrance to the garden unit from the back of the house. The unit is a bright one-bedroom, one-bathroom with a spacious living room with an entryway for coats/shoes and separate, also large bedroom. The bedroom has a queen-sized bed and dresser. You don't see it in the pictures yet but there's also a console/TV in the living room and a desk in the bedroom. There is also a kitchenette with a full sized fridge, microwave, induction cooktop and toaster oven (not a full oven). The house itself dates from the mid 1800's and has beautiful hardwood floors and exposed brick. The unit has separate heating that you can control, and stays very warm and insulated even in the coldest of Cambridge winters. Utilities and fast Wifi are included. Immediately outside the entrance, there's a small yard with a picnic table that you're welcome to share with our family. The best part is the location- a block away from the Central Square T Station and all that it has to offer, yet we live in a small cluster of houses that's very quiet and private. There is a washer and dryer that you would share with our family so we ask that it be used only on certain days of the week. There is no off-street parking. We love pets but unfortunately cannot accommodate them. We're hoping to find one person (versus a couple) since the house is shared with us and three kids- you'd hear them running around but we're generally pretty quiet, especially after 8pm. We're also hoping to find someone who could stay for as much of the time as possible i.e. someone who could stay for most of the school year.
