My partner and I are touring musicians so our house is full of music!—we have an extensive vinyl collection and several instruments that we welcome our guests to play. I also love plants so we have lots, and I’d appreciate the help watering them while we’re away. The barn is situated on 27 acres with trails though the meadow and woods, and there is a pond, which sometimes freezes enough for ice skating. We love our home, and we hope you do too. The barn is a cozy and unique space, situated on 27 acres of meadow and forest with a pond for swimming, fishing, and ice skating, depending on the season. You won't hear any highway noise on the dirt road, and the stars shine brightly on clear nights, giving the place a true country feel; it's still only a five minute drive from downtown Ithaca, Ithaca College, and Cornell University. Feel free to enjoy and play our piano, any stringed instruments, and extensive record collection! More info: This 1830's barn was deconstructed and moved to this plot of land from Dryden, NY in 1991 and was then converted into a home. The big beams throughout the main living space are original. It sits on a dirt road that's very quiet with no highway noise, but it's a five minute drive from the downtown area, Ithaca College, and Cornell University. East Hill Plaza is also very close (for groceries, a gym, drug store, etc.) There are walking trails through our woods along a gorge (the tributaries of which connect with Six Mile Creek ... and speaking of Six Mile Creek, the winery by the name is a couple miles away, and several more wineries can be found around Cayuga and Seneca Lakes!) and a pond for swimming and fishing, or ice skating if you're staying in the winter. The wood stove makes for an extra cozy wintertime vibe if you're looking to curl up with a book and a cup of tea while the snow falls outside. There is a king sized bed in the master bedroom upstairs and a double bed in the guest room downstairs. There is also a pull-out couch in the upstairs living room for extra guests. Just a heads up: the kitchen is very small, and there is limited surface area, so we just use the dining room table for food prep. The same can be said for the bathrooms: the downstairs full bath is European-style (with the shower and sink on one side of the hall and the toilet on the other, which actually has its perks!), and the upstairs half bath in the master bedroom is also very small. The barn itself has cozy, good vibes all around! If you wonder anything else about the house or the Ithaca area, we'd love to help. We adore this area and know it well, so if you like recommendations for for restaurants, wineries, hikes, sights, etc., please let us know.

Comments: Converted barn, close to town and colleges but with a very remote / country feel; wood stove; extensive vinyl record collection; very comfortable; great storage
Comments: All utilities *except electric * included. (We will fill the tank before we leave, and tenant will be responsible for having it filled before they move out.)
Comments: Regarding children, the house would be fine for older kids but if they’re little, it will be tricky keeping an eye on them because of the loft, balcony, and spiral stairs. Car: We have a 2019 Subaru Forester we're looking to rent during this time.
I’d like the tenant to water my plants once a week. It's a pretty quick and easy chore - it only takes me about ten minutes.
