Hello, Bonjour! We are offering a furnished room in a shared three-bedroom apartment in Montreal, less than a 10-minute walk from Cadillac metro station on the Green Line. This is a simple, functional apartment on the 3rd floor of a triplex. It is not fancy, but it is clean, organized, tidy, calm, and well suited to someone looking for a respectful home environment rather than a typical student roommate setup. The apartment is our pied à terre in Montreal. Our family home is in Europe, and my husband, who is a professor of philosophy, is only in Montreal for one teaching semester per year, usually from late January to late May. This means he is only there about four and a half months of the year. The other person living in the apartment is a close family friend in his late 30s. He is a professional, has a master’s degree, and works in consulting. He is kind, mature, respectful, tidy, and easy to live with. For most of the year, the apartment would be shared by only two people. We all speak French and English. We know it can be difficult for a mature academic, PhD student, visiting researcher, or professional to find a shared home that is quiet, respectful, and suitable for focused work. That is exactly the kind of environment we are hoping to offer. The available room is compact but practical and furnished with: -Single bed -Dresser/storage space -Closet -Desk with screen -White board wall -Window with curtains -Window Air Conditionner Shared spaces include the kitchen, bathroom, living room, and a small front balcony. There are no pets in the apartment and no smoking. This would best suit someone calm, mature, independent, and tidy, who appreciates a peaceful home and is looking for a stable place to live while studying, researching, teaching, or working in Montreal. Rent: CAD $800/month includes utilities (up to normal use of $150 per month for heat/electricity/internet for the apartment.
