My home is nestled against the Sangre de Christo Mountains (part of the lower Rocky Mountain chain) in a sleepy farming community of Cerro, New Mexico. It is a modest yet cozy and well-furnished place, with a full kitchen with VitaMix, stand-up mixer, food processor, and all utensils, to a huge wood stove that heats the entire house. No AC is needed at 7,500 feet in an arid environment. Comfortable radiant floor heat is in living room. For folks who are looking for solitude and a rural, mountain escape, my home offers that on 2 acres. My back yard is a mountain. Elk herds, deer, and fox visit my yard during winter. Birds are abundant. Relax in the sunroom while watching the hummingbirds in summer months. If you are looking for a fancy, four-star experience, my home will not give you that. It is clean, comfortable, and provides visitors with access to nature's beauty. What it does not offer in terms of posh Air B&B stuff, it makes up for in other things. My home offers two bedrooms with queen-size beds; closets; chests of drawers, 1 full bath (with shower and tub) and 1 half bath, a study, a dining room/sun room, utility room with washer and dryer; clothesline; outdoor workshop/studio with electricity and natural light; fire pit; meditation walk; deck. Flagstone floor in living room; bamboo floors in kitchen and breakfast area. Excellent high-speed wi-fi for Zoom meetings! My place is furnished in "southwest bohemian" with plenty of sunny reading nooks. My place is about 30 minutes north of Taos and about 2.5 hours from Santa Fe. There is no Door Dash or Uber Eats nearby. The closest organic grocery store is Cid's in Taos. For these city slicker conveniences my place lacks, it makes up for in beauty, access to outdoor activities (skiing, bicycling, fishing, camping) and dark, night skies with the gleaming Milky Way. Use of my 4-wheel drive Nissan Xterra is negotiable. There is RDT Blue Bus service right down the street. The village of Questa is a former mining community and Cerro, my home, is rich in Native American and Latino history, adjacent to the Carson National Forest. The main economy in the area is tourism and outdoor activity. The nearby town of Taos has many galleries, museums, and cultural events. Autumn in the area is not to be missed! For artists, you will have plenty of natural light and wall space. Shed/artist studio with wooden counters, natural light, electricity, plenty of plugs, concrete floor, and secure lock. Plenty of room to work on outdoor projects.
