Seeking a roommate/tenant for July & August (dates negotiable)

THE SITUATION We live in a two-family home in South Medford. We will be traveling extensively this summer and are looking for a roommate/tenant who can help with maintaining our home while we are out of town. Because we will be traveling, you will have the house to yourself the majority of time. In particular, we seek a roommate/tenant that can keep our cat company as well as water our indoor plants, our outdoor garden (vegetables, herbs, flowers), and maintain our hot tub while we are away. More details can be provided to interested roommate/tenant. We are flexible with start and end dates (and open to just a one month stay), though there is a specific period of time in July and/or August you must be available. THE SPACE We live in a two-family home with two units. Our unit is on the second floor; two people live in a separate unit on the first floor. We have a furnished private room available in our unit (the second floor unit). The shared space includes a living room, dining room, kitchen, outdoor deck space, a backyard, and an enclosed hot tub. There is one full bathroom that would be shared with us when we are home. There is a washer and dryer in the basement. If you have a car, there is plenty of on street parking. If you have an EV, there is a level 2 charger in our driveway. The bedroom available includes a bed, adjustable standing desk, bookshelf, and shelving storage. There is also a small closet. The bedroom has windows which receive plenty of sunlight during the day and has a mini-split unit for air conditioning. Linens (towels, sheets, blankets) can also be provided. If you need, there is limited storage available in the basement. The kitchen includes an induction range and dishwasher and several appliances. Roommate/tenant will have full access to kitchen. Our back deck also has a gas grill which is available for use. Our living / dining room space has flat screen TV with access to multiple streaming services. Both decks have seating space which get a lot of sun during the day. Rent is inclusive of all utilities (heat/AC, trash, electricity, water, high speed WiFi, access to streaming services, hot tub usage, EV charging). MORE ABOUT US We are in our early 40s and live an active, outdoorsy lifestyle. If you are also outdoorsy we would welcome you joining us when we go hiking, biking, and camping. We keep a tidy home. We also enjoy cooking, playing board games, and having company over in the evenings. When we not traveling, Justin (software engineer) partially works from home and Chris (assistant professor and writer) spends time writing from home, public libraries, and coffee shops. We also enjoy competitive board gaming, cooking, and often have friends over for game and dinner nights. ABOUT YOU We are seeking a roommate/tenant to help with our housework (plants/garden) and care for our cat while we are out of town. We welcome a roommate/tenant who would like to engage with us in social activities, but that is, of course your choice. Our home would be ideal for someone who might need a place before beginning a lease in September. Our space is pretty quiet during the day, so if you plan to work from home at all this can also be a good fit for you. This space/room would be ideal for one person, but we are open to a couple.
