ARCHITECT'S NEW HOME

Description

We are an architect and filmmaker couple who restored a former warehouse together with friends. We bought three buildings with our friends, a designer and a florist, who live next door, creating a small arts hub. We spend much of our time in Italy these days, and hence rent our home. We designed our home as a live/work space, open, light-filled, and expansive, with a sense of calm that comes from its scale and simplicity. We love to cook, and the kitchen reflects that: a well-equipped, generous space anchored by a professional Bluestar gas stove with grill, griddle, and double ovens. In the colder months, a small wood-burning fireplace offers a cozy space to read and flame-gaze. The neighbourhood is an evolving mix of industrial and residential—lively but not overrun. There is a local brewpub, a tiny (and somewhat hidden) pasta spot, and a handful of excellent restaurants. Parks are across the street with dog runs and lots of nearby ravines for walking. Public transit is easily accessible. It’s a home we care deeply about and use attentively. We hope it offers a similarly grounded and inspiring place for your time here.
