Rare chance to live in Habitat 67! Canada's iconic mid-century housing complex redefined urban living, with a focus on gardens, fresh air, privacy and multi-level environments. Art- and antique-filled, two-level apartment, located in the award-winning heritage building designed by Moshe Safdie for the 1967 World's Fair in Montreal. 125 sq metres. Many original features. Floor-to-ceiling windows over St. Lawrence River, offering gorgeous sunrises, superb birdwatching, as well as prime viewing of the river surfers (year round!)... Relax to the murmur of the rapids from inside the apartment (no city or traffic noise). The best of both worlds--surrounded by peaceful nature, but only minutes from the heart of lively, cosmopolitan Montreal! Covid-proof design--no internal hallways, no shared air with other units. 24-hour security; friendly, helpful porters; maintenance and groundskeeping staff; convenience store on site. Main floor features a fully updated kitchen (stove, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, wine fridge) complete with everything you need to cook or bake; powder room; and living/dining room that opens onto large private terrace. Upstairs is one bedroom (cool and quiet) with double bed; a spacious office/guest room (with sofabed that also sleeps two, and breathtaking view); as well as a family-sized bathroom (two sinks) with bathtub/shower, Toto washlet, linen closet, washer, and dryer. Beautiful parks and amazing views in all directions. Plenty of free parking throughout the complex (heated underground parking is available for a small fee). Public transit bus stops immediately outside complex, allowing direct connection to two different metro lines. Docking station for the city bike share system (April-November) located immediately beside the front gate. Habitat 67 has two outdoor (clay) tennis courts, two pétanque terrains beside a gorgeous fountain, and is on Montreal's excellent bike trail system. Our own bicycles, snowshoes, tennis racquets, pétanque balls, and other sporting equipment are available for your use. Depending on the season, your white-water skills, and your sense of adventure, you may want to try bodyboarding or take a dip in the river, but be aware that the current is very, very strong! (Life jackets available). Habitat's active Community Life Committee organizes a variety of optional activities for residents: yoga classes on the rooftop, outdoor cinema, seasonal gatherings, lectures, occasional concerts, bike excursions... There is a printer/scanner in the apartment, as well as a monitor and keyboard. High speed internet. And when you want to watch a movie or sports event on the big screen, just plug your laptop into our projector. Our current cleaner comes once every two weeks; for a fee this could also be arranged during your stay. No smoking indoors. Minimum 12 months exchange or rent. NOT suitable for anyone with mobility issues (stairs outside and inside the apartment). Here are just a few comments from our prior guests: “We do hope you continue to enjoy your lovely home. We feel very privileged to have lived there and will treasure the times we had... and the beautiful view.” “We have refreshed. Replenished. Rejuvenated. Thank you for sharing.” “The apartment really is very special.”
